Years ago, when we were in Chicago, I really, really wanted to see Wicked but neither Funandone nor KD wanted to go. They both have all kinds of excuses now...none that really hold up, if you ask me. Anyway, I recently read the book and, even though it was a little bizarre at times, I really wanted to see the musical. KD agreed to go with me.

Usually, I will swear by books. Books are always better than movies. Books contain the truth of the story. This time, however, what they did on stage was way better than the book. In fact, I almost wish I hadn't read the book. Almost. Maybe it was the stuff they left out. Maybe it was the ending. Or maybe it was the music.

Actually, it really may have been the way the friendship played out on stage. Not in my head, but right there in front of me. In case you don't know, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good were bff's. They were an unlikely pair, to say the least, but isn't that the way friendships usually work?

It well may be
